I'm working on some other more interesting translations but school has taken over (I'm nearing the end of the term so finals and reports everywhere) so I'm going about it really slowly :(
But I saw this article on the Jnews website (can you even really consider it an "article"...) that talked about Shige's recent appearance on Kchan NEWS that I thought was really cute so I quickly translated it (＾◇＾)
Koyama and Shige discuss the extent of their friendship: "so good it's disgusting"
On the 7 July episode of Kchan NEWS, NEWS' Koyama Keiichiro and Kato Shigeaki discussed the extent of their friendship.
It was the day Kato was the guest. They received a letter from a listener who wrote "I got told by the person I consider my best friend 'I don't have a best friend'". After hearing this sad letter Kato asked Koyama, "Are we best friends?" to which Koyama replied "I think of you as a best friend...".
Koyama went on to describe him and Kato's relationship.
"We often get asked 'is Koyama and Kato's relationship really that good?' don't we. There are times where you can see it while we're working too. Because on television we normally appear as good friends. Seriously, in real life we're really good friends. To the extent that it's disgusting."
Kato emphasised that their friendship was not just something made up on television and continued on about this deep, "so close it's disgusting" friendship that Koyama confessed. They continued on to talking about the Juniors and the end of their live tour.
While Kato mentioned "I don't usually do anything with the juniors, like if I invited them to do something what would we do?" Koyama replied "It'd be okay if you just drank next to me". To this Kato replied, "well I guess it can't be helped huh... Since it's my best friend's request I guess I'll have to". And so the two confirmed their friendship.
