koyamacchiOn the 6th I was fortunate enough to go to Fukuoka and see the last Fukuoka date of Hey Say JUMP's tour!
I have to say, it was one of the best concerts I have seen so far, they put on a great show. I was blown away.
I hadn't slept the night before and I travelled there from Tokyo the day of so I was in a really weird state during the concert so my memory is kind of hazy and certain things I cannot remember at all (;´Д｀) But I wrote down what I remembered! And I looked through Japanese twitter for the entertaining MC parts I couldn't remember too well and translated those.
So here it is~
Apologies in advance if this report is heavily oriented around Yuto... I'm just a tiiiiiiny bit biased. Which means I spent 90% of the time staring at him.
- Before the concert started they played a CM for Yamada's 24hrtv drama SP (people didn't really scream when Yamada appeared on it but when Inocchi and Massu did there were people screaming their names hahahaha) and they played a thing with the 3D Jump characters and Chinen/Sabonen introduced a penlight dance to us while talking in a high, cutesy voice, then Yuto/Yusic taught it to us again, also in a high, cutesy voice.
- JUMPing CAR was extremely fun, I wasn't too fond of the song before this but after seeing the cute dance I've been listening to it on repeat ever since. They all held parts of a car while they danced (like 2 held wheels, and another a steering wheel, etc) and they made their way to the centre stage
- Viva 9's Soul was definitely one of my favourites, it was done on the centre stage and the member singing would stand in the centre elevated area with the member they were introducing. Everyone did weird stuff during theirs but I can only remember a few specifics D: After Daiki introduced Chinen Chinen did a backflip, in the part where Yabu's being introduced and he does that na na na naananana singing part (I'm awful at explaining, just listen to the song you'll know what I mean) he didn't do it seriously and instead put on a high, strange voice to do it, when Yuto was introducing Keito he sang the whole thing while furiously headbanging (Keito was as well), and then at Daiki's intro part when he's all "at least say something about me, anything is fine!" Yuto came up and just lifted Daiki up to make him taller. Again, I can't remember the specifics but during everyone's intro they were all fooling around (sometimes interupting others' intros) and it was really fun.
- For Super Delicate before the famous Yuto/Yamada part the rest of the members had a fanservice-y love thing with eachother (sadly I cannot for the life of me remember who was with who or what they did...) and then when it was Yuto and Yamada's turn Hikaru came up from behind them trying to interupt and trying to kiss Yuto, Yuto turned towards Hikaru trying to kiss him too but eventually went back to Yamada
- Puppy Boo's dance was really cute, they did it with canes as props. Yuto, Takaki, Chinen, and Inoo all left about half way through so the remaining five did the rest of the performance by themselves
- Pet Shop Love Motion was RIDICULOUS. I'm sure you've all seen the paparazzi photos already but yeah, Yuto, Takaki, Chinen, and Inoo all come up dressed as a rabbit, dog, mouse, and cat and the dance was ridiculously cute. At the end Inoo was like "ahh what should I do, ahh I'll give you my fish" and just threw his giant fish on the stage as they descended backstage.
- For the BEST corner it started with a VTR showing what the Best members are up to, Takaki is like a construction worker, Inoo is just seen at a river or something fishing, Hikaru is an Indiana Jones-like adventurer wrangling snakes and stuff, I cannot remember what on earth Yabu was, and Daiki was one of those security guard-ish people (I'm so bad at explaining, I'm so sorry). At the end of the VTR Daiki sends the other members a text message that opened with "so are you guys popular yet?"
After the VTR Daiki appears in his security guard outfit on stage with a map in his hand, the screen shows a closeup of the map and it's just a simple map of the stage with a giant fish on the centre stage that had an arrow pointing to it that said "here". Once Daiki makes his way to the meeting point of the fish the other members gradually start showing up and the regular kind of BEST antics ensue (complete with Hikaru kicking Daiki in the face). Suits Days starts and they make their way to a mannequin dressed in a suit and all take their turns dancing with it.
- Afterwards was the hs7 corner, the screen showed footage from their earlier days and each member sung their own song (short version of course), Yamada did Moonlight, Yuto did Uruwashi no Bad Girl, Keito did Higher, and Chinen did Ookiku nare Boku. They all did their part on a different stage and much to my horror Yuto did his on the side stage which was right in front of me. And that was the first time that I died during this concert. (Dying in a good way of course)
- MC Parts:
Daiki: So what did everyone do in the hotel last night?
Hikaru: I fell asleep right away
Yuto: I watched the footage of the concert from before and then got a massage
Inoo: I wanted to watch Little Tokyo Life and Itadaki High Jump but it didn't air yesterday
(all the fans screaming): yes it did!!!!!
Inoo: ...I can't use the remote control well...
Hikaru: Yesterday we went out to eat Mizutaki (* dish where stuff like fish is cooked in water) didn't we?
Yuto: and we did Shabu Shabu (* basically hot pot)
Yamada: and we ate skewers too
Hikaru: The water we toasted at the end was delicious too wasn't it!
Takaki: No it wasn't!!! It was awful! When I went to the toilet someone put salt in my water!
(this part about Pink & Grey and Shige made me really happy since I'm primarily a NEWS fan...)
Yuto brought up how he's in the movie adaptation of Shige's novel, Pink & Grey.
Yuto: It shows a lot of bad parts of people so fans may find themselves being like "ehhh! yuto...." and "eh....yuto...."
Daiki: That part's important so you said it twice
Yuto: Shige came to visit us on set with his own lunchbox and his face was different from the usual Shige.. [imitates Shige's face, looks really stern and serious]
Hikaru: What, isn't that how Shige's face always is?
Yuto: Oh so that's just normal?
Hikaru: Shige's a bit of a weird one isn't he? On the radio program me, Inoo, and Shige are all on the staff arranged a cake for Shige's birthday and me and Inoo presented him with it. The cake was a goldfish, when I asked why they were goldfishes they told me that Shige apparently loves goldfish. That really made me think he was strange person. He could even tell us what kind of goldfish the cake was
Yabu: He loves goldfish but is then gonna eat it, that's complicated...
Hikaru: Shige said that too, he was like "oh no what should I do"
At the end of the MC Yamada and Keito came out in their outfits for their duet and had a separate smaller MC between the two of them.
Yamada: Finally it's just the two of us
Keito: you're really gross!
Yamada: Before the concert I was brushing my teeth and then I realised I was using Yuto's toothbrush!
Keito: you two are close aren't you~
Yamada: no we aren't!!
Keito: I have something I want to try, I want everyone to clap your hands
[confused fans start to clap]
Keito: No, I don't mean now, ok people with A blood type, clap your hands
[A type people clap]
Keito: [continues with the other bloodtypes and ends with type O]
Keito: See, most people are type O! .... Okay that was all
- After their duet a VTR played of the members all backstage tied up, some with tape over their mouths, although Inoo just took his own tape off, spoke, then taped his mouth shut again. It was supposed to be that HSJ had been captured by the Sensations, so obviously the next song was Korosensations.
- UNION was really good, Daiki was DJing and Hikaru was on bass while Yabu just bopped around while singing. Daiki was especially cool, lots of people around me were freaking out about him DJing
- Yowamushi Shooter was really good too, everyone was on their instruments and this time Yabu had a guitar?? (unless I was hallucinating and seeing things???) It was for this song that the penlight dance they taught us before the concert started was for.
- Then after that was the Yuto Mania segment, which, as a Yuto fan, killed me (My 2nd time dying during this concert). It started with him having a conversation with his 3D character (Yusic/Yujikku) which was really cute and then they said he'd be playing drums to Arashi's Happiness, TOKIO's Love You Only, and Kanjani8's LIFE.
- After the drumming segment the rest of the members did a light dance thing in the dark which led into Beat Line, for Yuto's drumming part his drums were all lit up which was cool
- I don't have much to say about it but the performance of Boys Don't Stop was really cool, I liked it a lot.
- At the end of the double encore while they were leaving backstage Yuto said "I love you!" in Hakata dialect, then followed by "No that's wrong, it's Mentaiko!" (* Fukuoka is famous for mentaiko - marinated fish eggs)
And that's about all I have to say!
As a Yuto fan I have a couple overall things to say about him though:
Yuto was super bouncy the entire time (well everyone was, but Yuto to the extreme) and I got a super friendly vibe from him, he was super nice to all the fans, when he was going by on the carts he'd point at fans and nod at them and mouth things to them, he was properly making a connection to them, it was really cute. He really seems like a good guy ; w ;
But yeah it was a really good concert and I'm super excited for the DVD!
